With the drag racing offseason upon us, Dixie Twister aims to help racing fans make it through the winter without many exhaust-fueled withdrawals.  For racing enthusiasts in the Peach State, the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame Museum offers many exciting artifacts and exhibits which are on display all year long.

Georgia Racing Hall of Fame in Dawsonville, Georgia

The GRHOF is located deep in the heart of Bill Elliott country.  Known as “Awesome Bill from Dawsonville”, Elliott is recognized as one of NASCAR’s 50 Greatest Drivers.  A fan favorite, Elliott was voted most popular driver in the Winston Cup Series 16 times.

Features of the GRHOF Museum

Dawsonville states the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame is a “spacious 40,000 square-foot museum”.  Outside of the building, classic race cars and artifacts adorn the facility.  Once inside the GRHOF museum, spectators are greeted with a variety of exhibits to enjoy.

Various shows and presentations on display include “The Saturday Night Drive-In Theatre” and the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame Room, complete with memorabilia as a tribute to those who helped make racing a staple of Georgia tradition. The GRHOF museum also offers a café for dining and refreshments.

According to the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame, the GRHOF “has been recognized by the Georgia State Legislators as the official home of the Drag Racing Hall of Fame in Georgia.”  The GRHOF is dedicated to acknowledging prominent members from the past, present, and future of Georgia’s racing community.

The Georgia Racing Hall of Fame is open Monday – Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.   Weekend hours of operation are from 10:00 AM – 2:00PM.  For more information, follow the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame on Facebook.
